Support critical Public Works Department sustainability initiatives including implementing urban forestry programs and regulations, supporting electric vehicle adoption, promoting pilot programs for sustainability efforts, supporting waste reduction efforts, implementing key programs on the Climate Action and Adaption Plan, and other sustainability initiatives as they arise. A major work effort is supporting development, outreach and adoption of the City’s Urban Forest Plan and leading implementation of this plan.

Managed and administered the NeighborWoods Program – a neighborhood based urban forestry program focused on environmental justice, community organizing, and municipal forestry. Direct oversight of a $800,000 budget, and 6 employees and contractors. Performed program development, program and staff management, grant and contract preparation and administration, project management, policy development, and community outreach, education, and engagement.

Assisted 1,000 customers annually with residential tree planting and care projects. Coordinated urban forest improvement projects with partner agencies and coordinated volunteer events.

Performed data collection for 300 plots in to measure, identify, and assess tree health using iTree software.
