In partnership with the Information Services department, lead the support, maintenance, and ongoing functional improvements to Navigate, and communicate updates to campus stakeholders.-In partnership with Admissions department, develops and maintains New Student Orientation content and platform management. Performs and provides leadership and project management support for special projects at the discretion of the Associate Dean for Admissions and Enrollment Management in support of enrollment management, operations, and technology related to admissions and retention processes.

Writing Center

As Assistant Director, I managed daily operations of the Writing Center. I acted as Manager and Supervisor for a team of 15-20 tutors, as well as leading a team of graduate assistants. I coordinated the quarterly schedule, solved student issues, and managed Center operations daily. Additionally, I generated monthly reports, updated student resources, and consulted with the Director weekly. As my top accomplishment, I coordinated the on boarding of new technology in the form of scheduling software to make operations more efficient and effective.

Writing Center

As a writing tutor for Winthrop University, it was my specialty to both proofread and comprehensively edit papers by consulting with students one-on-one to achieve success in various types of writing. Following my training, I became extensively trained in composition and tutoring theory, research, and analyzing student writing. Working in a conference setting challenged me to think quickly to assess student writing in a limited span of time, selecting strategies and techniques that enable the student to revise his or her writing.

I was selected to intern as a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Jane Smith. Under her professional guidance, I assisted her in a Critical Reading, Thinking and Writing course (CRTW) to learn the teaching of college English. Not only did this internship prepare me for a possible career as a professor of English, but I also learned to use writing, reading, speaking, and critical thinking to foster intellectual growth. I designed class discussions and lessons, planned and implemented instruction within the classroom to engage students in learning, and assisted with the grading process. I tracked several students throughout the semester to monitor their success.
