I am a seasoned educator and a proven leader leveraging career experience infusing DEI strategies and initiatives, driving business outcomes, and impacting cultural and organizational change for private and public institutions. In my role as the Learning Experience Design Lead for Girls Leadership Institute, I am accountable for executing curriculum and learning experiences for K-12 students and their parents to address scenarios, personal biases, cultural responsiveness, and cultural competency. I also devote my time as a full-time teacher at the Township of Union Public School and as an adjunct at Raritan Valley Community College. I regularly observe and supervise student teachers at Centenary University to develop pedagogy and social-emotional teaching skills in a clinical learning environment. As a woman of color and daughter of an immigrant family, I’m most proud of my dual cultural background and societal perspectives that shaped my unique identity. I was raised with conservative Indian beliefs different from many of my peers, even challenged to find my own voice as a young girl, believing that culture shapes our differences, individuality, and worldview. My passion for teaching comes from helping children understand the important building blocks of character alongside their academics which is critical to formative years of life. These values laid the groundwork for pursuing a rewarding and meaningful career in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).When I’m not teaching or reshaping DEI strategies, I dedicate my time as a loving and devoted daughter, sister, and community volunteer. I also enjoy traveling abroad discovering cultures around the world.
