I perform various aspects of the Human Factors Engineering and Usability Testing process for Product Development and Research and Development of combination products including:Designing and conducting various Human Factors studies including: generative usability studies, late-stage formative studies, user preference studies, validation protocols to satisfy the requirements of FDA and CEmarking, and all associated reports for on-body wearable infusors for various user groups. Generating all necessary documentation in compliance with IEC 62366, ISO 14971, ANSI/AAMI HE75 and FDA Guidances on usability including usability risk analyses (Task Analysis, uFMEA, Task Prioritization). Coordinating projects with pharmaceutical partners to meet mutual project timelines. Managing human subjects research documentation and ethics according to federal guidelines and coordinating studies with external Institutional Review Boards.

Conducted the required associated FDA Human Factors evaluations, ethnographic research, and gap analyses required for a Class III life supporting medical device during pediatric clinical trials. Conducted Human Factors research for learning and compliance programs necessary for patient safety and adherence while using cardiac bridge to transplant devices leading to development of a healthcare based training and a GUI tablet application.Coordinated over 45 clinical research trials within the Heart Institute Research Core for various drugs (Phase I-IV and post-market) and Class II and III medical devices for adult and pediatric patients. Managed human subjects research documentation and ethics according to federal guidelines and coordinating studies with an internal Institutional Review Board and external Contract Research Organizations (CROs).

Conducting laboratory experiments examining eye development and foveal development within the CCHMC Research Foundations' Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology. Conducted experiments with a myriad of molecular biology research techniques including developing a novel retinal dissection method for examination foveal development.

I performed research in Ingestive Behavior and Obesity Studies including behavioral conditioning of animals, immunohistochemistry, genetic knockdown, and other molecular neurobiology techniques. While in the laboratory at the Metabolic Diseases Institute I worked with leading scientists and a medical device manufacturer to test bariatric surgical devices and the effects of bariatric surgical treatments to examine patient post-surgical intervention behaviors and improve patient outcomes. My individual laboratory work was accepted as a poster presentation at the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting, the National McNair Research Conference, and the University of Cincinnati Scholarly Showcase where it won a "Top 3 Award" for best poster. This work was also awarded funding by the University of Cincinnati Undergraduate Student Research Fellowship Program, a summer research fellowship awarded to outstanding undergraduate students participating in research.

Used multiple ethnographic, interview, and survey techniques to collect quantitative and qualitative data to improve patient care.
