As a passionate thought leader in digital education, I am driven by a vision of strategic, effective, and inclusive technology use. What energizes me are people and problems. I thrive in an environment of collaboration, co-design, and creativity where I can bring people together to offer their unique insights and experiences and then leverage those to solve complex problems. In my experience, that complex problem usually centers around ensuring that technology solutions are adapted to meet the needs of each unique context. Through my work at the forefront of edtech, I promote digital equity and empower educators to apply technology to their practice. I'm recognized nationally as a leader in adult education, specializing in digital skills, artificial intelligence, and professional and product development to support the open education movement. After years of experience teaching adults English, and integrating digital skills into that instructional practice, I'm more eager than ever to help all adult and lifelong learners develop the skills they need to reach their goals and thrive. A key achievement that I'm proud of is the development of the "Digital Literacy Action Plan", an innovative strategy for elevating learner voice and agency in digital skills instruction. While I started that effort as a classroom teacher, I now see how the solution applies at so many levels of the educational ecosystem. I've gone on to build on that work, expanding it into a broader vision of digital equity. By leading monthly EdTech Strategy Sessions and the AI for Learning and Work initiative, I'm able to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and practitioners. In EdTech Maker Spaces and my role supporting the CrowdED Learning open education initiative, I've applied my expertise in professional development, curriculum design, technology implementation, and digital inclusion to develop a scalable open education strategy that addresses access, reusability, and teacher training.My original life's mission was to be in school forever. The only way I could make that love for education sustainable was to become an educator. I believe that what makes me best at what I do is that love for learning. It's my superpower!
