Senior Research Associate
CurrentWestEd is a nonprofit research, development, and service agency that works with schools, state and federal government agencies, ed tech companies, and other communities throughout the United States and abroad to achieve equity and improve learning for children, youth, and adults.Current projects: As a part of a cross-organization team, I support an evaluation of Colorado's READ Act for early reading improvement, focusing on measuring reading outcomes associated with per pupil expenditures. As a senior researcher with REL Northwest at WestEd, I lead technical assistance projects with state education agencies focused on planning for and implementing state-wide literacy initiatives. I also direct the evaluation of a federal Magnet School Assistance Program (MSAP) grant for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.Responsibilities:• Direct multi-year projects, coordinating responsibilities of multiple partners, tracking budgets, and ensuring high quality deliverables• Manage research design, participant recruitment, and implementation of large-scale RCTs and QEDs in education• Work with clients and research partners to design evaluations of educational programs and materials, including feasibility and usability studies for product and resource development• Provide technical assistance to non-profits, districts, and state education agencies related to strategic planning, implementation, and program evaluation.• Lead and support grant proposal writing
