Nominet manages the official UK Domain registry. It is a company of public benefit whose key aim is to encourage and support individuals and businesses to get online.During my time at Nominet, I developed and implemented a partnership strategy - to extend the company’s reach to new customers in the early critical stages of starting a business and to also amplify the UK Domain family brand.I achieved this by identifying organisations already working within core market segments and building relationships with key decision makers to identify opportunities and areas of mutual benefit. Working with the internal delivery teams at Nominet, I developed a programme of targeted and measurable partner activities.During the six months of my contract, I acquired four new and enhanced partnerships, extending Nominet’s reach to over 600,000 customers per month. Additional partnerships started to develop as my contract ended.

Jisc provides digital solutions for the UK education and research sector through a mix of public funding and subscription. The company operates shared digital infrastructure and services and negotiates sector-wide deals with IT vendors and commercial publishers. The company provides trusted advice and hands-on support for universities, colleges and learning providers.As Marketing Manager-Technologies, my role involved working closely with product, service and channel managers to understand requirements, and translate these into effective marketing strategies. I also worked closely with delivery partners (such as iPass wifi providers) to develop go to market plans and collaborate on joint marketing activities.I led a team of talented product marketing professionals, with responsibility for developing and implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns. This led to an increased awareness and uptake of Jisc’s technology-led services. I also collaborated at a corporate level to ensure that these services were represented across Jisc’s wider portfolio and corporate-wide activities.

Janet(UK) provides the Janet network for research and education and associated technology solutions. The network services 18 million users across the UK and supports world-wide collaborations using cutting edge technologies. As Marketing Manager, I led a team responsible for raising awareness and uptake of these high tech services, working closely with service managers to plan and execute effective marketing.Within the role, I led many high profile projects, including the launch of a Shared Data Centre for research and education, and represented Jisc Technologies’ division in the planning and delivery of strategic events and conferences. A major part of my role was building relationships with partners and suppliers - such as Infinity/Virtus, and Amazon to meet business objectives and collaborate on marketing activities.

As Senior Marketing Officer, I also provided first line mentoring and support for the team and contributed to a number of steering, project and planning groups to influence strategic decision-making.

My role involved targeting local engineering firms to encourage them to employ young trainees under the apprenticeship programme. It also required working with schools and training providers to build brand reputation and using a variety of comms channels to attract new apprentices.

FurniturePro, was a new franchise which focused on furniture touch-up and repair. My role focused on establishing the brand and on franchisee acquisition in order to grow the business. This included the implementation of a launch strategy, key to which was building relationships with franchise bodies, channel owners and specialist media. I also provided support to a dedicated team of account managers, through the development of marketing and training material across print, rich media and digital.

With Headquarters in the US, and a large presence in the UK, the organisation was keen to expand into Europe. My role as Market Development Manager was to explore the potential of entering the French furniture market. This involved working with local development agencies and suppliers to ascertain viability and to conduct a thorough competitor analysis.
