Rachman Noor (Jakarta, 1988) took his first cello lessons at the age of 14 with Erfy Larasati. He had taken lessons with Jan Willem Troost in The Hague, Netherlands and Kornfeld Zoltán in Vienna, Austria. Rachman is currently studying cello in Universitas Pelita Harapan under the tutelage of Paul Vest. In August 2011, Rachman made his solo debut performing Elgar's Cello Concerto with Twilite Youth Orchestra conducted by Eric Awuy. He had worked with musicians such as Imogen Heap, Raisa, Nidji, Zeke and the Popo, Iman Fattah, Ananda Sukarlan, and Carel Kraayenhof, among others. Rachman had masterclasses by Yao Zhao, Jan Willem Troost, and Marlin Owen. He played in various orchestras like Twilite Youth Orchestra, Twilite Orchestra, Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra, Gunma Junior Orchestra, Camerata Indonesia, Orkes Komunitas Concordia, and Jakarta Concert Orchestra where he worked with conductors such as Eric Awuy, Addie MS, Jahja Ling, Shinichi Minami, Budi Utomo Prabowo, Chan Tze-Law, and Avip Priatna. Rachman is also active as a recitalist, chamber musician, and cello teacher.
