Recently, I have obtained a Google's IT Support Certificate and am pursuing a career as an IT support specialist . I would like this to be just the start in order to eventually grow my skills and be able to go for the CompTIA Security+ certification. I am hoping and striving to advance my career to the level of a cybersecurity specialist. I would like to end up with a company that I can express this goal to, and they will treat me as an open book to soak up as much technical knowledge as possible to achieve this goal and move me up from there.I am coming from a position as a customer service agent where my responsibilities were to navigate CRM (customer relationship manager) systems, handle an inbound call queue in a timely manner, and troubleshoot customer issues. This is the job that inspired the change in careers. Having to troubleshoot the company's software issues gave me a satisfying feeling. I was successful in resolving most issues, but when I encountered challenges, it fueled my desire to dig deeper and understand the root cause. I just needed to understand more about what I was dealing with, so when the opportunity came, I took advantage of it to develop some great technical skills. Since childhood, I have always been proactive in wanting to learn down to the bone how things work, and IT Support scratches that desire. For example, in mathematical classes, if we were prompted to use a calculator, I always asked to be shown the rundown of how the problem was solved. Additionally, helping others is a value that holds great importance to me, and being in tech is a great way to exercise that. While working as a customer service agent, the best feeling was after solving the customer issues and then hearing the joy and relief in their voice.Overall, I believe this career change is the right move for me. It really sparks a passion that I have always known I had. I know I will reach my goal with my drive, ambition, and openness to learn more from the guidance of my peers and superiors. The company I land at will not be disappointed, as my all-in, never-give-up approach will contribute greatly to their culture and company values.
