Finance Manager
Current• Provide comprehensive financial support for a daily newspaper, 5 community publications and 2 divisions (Advertising and Marketing). • Responsible for the management of annual budgets, incorporating management targets and P&L parameters• Perform extensive expense budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis• Responsible for weekly flash report and submission to corporate• Serve as a liaison between divisions and the finance department while also interacting daily with senior management, including Directors, VPs, and Publisher• Proactively advise division management on expense curtailment and the financial aspects of business strategies• Deliver detailed weekly expense projections for supported publications• Successfully consolidate key weekly revenue and expense projections and financial reporting/budgets for all newspaper groups for review by senior management• Prepare all financial reporting used in overall budget presentations to media news• Develop and implement a successful budget process for supported publications and divisions in addition to the consolidation of budgets from all other newspaper groups for the last 2 years• Prepared and produced accurate department spending reports for all levels of division management• Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, including the finance department while participating in the annual plan and quarterly forecast process. • Analyze detailed and complex financial models to calculate the impact of financial & non-financial terms for strategic business initiatives
