Professor Radek Martinek is a Professor of Cybernetics, Vice-Dean for Science and Research, and Deputy Head of the Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. He also serves as the University Coordinator for Space Research and is an IEEE Senior Member.Prof. Martinek has authored over 350 scientific publications, more than 150 of which are indexed in impact factor journals. He is listed in the prestigious WORLD’s TOP 2% SCIENTISTS (2023) List by Stanford University. With over 2,500 citations, his Web of Science H-index stands at 25.As a principal investigator, co-investigator, and team member, he has been involved in dozens of national and international projects with a total budget exceeding 5 million euros. His research focuses primarily on the application of advanced signal processing methods and sensor measurements. He holds 11 national patents, 11 software solutions, 2 prototypes, 9 semi-operational models, 6 utility models, 1 licensed patent, and 1 licensed software.The results of his applied research in the field of sensors and signal processing are actively utilized by industrial partners such as Brose, Maxion Wheels, Porsche Engineering, and the Fraunhofer Institute.Prof. Martinek has long and systematically built a strong network of collaborations with internationally recognized institutions worldwide, leading to numerous joint projects and publications. One notable collaboration is with the University of Texas in the USA, with which he has co-authored more than 30 publications.
