EEN supports companies to find international business partners, providing opportunities to enter new markets, develop new products, commercialize new technologies and strengthen R&D consortiums. The service is intended primarily for technology-oriented SMEs. As liaison officer/technology broker for the Enterprise Europe Network I was responsible for assisting Dutch companies in finding the right commercial-, technical-, or research partner in one or more countries of the network. I worked with companies in the AgroFood and CleanTech (sustainable (bio) energy; renewable resources / materials, efficient use of natural resources and energy ). I supported companies in these areas to find partners through organizing networking events, such as company missions and brokerage events at large trade fairs, and via personal contacts in the Enterprise Europe Network and a large database. Next to it I was key account manager for companies with selected proposals of the SME Instrument (an innovation program), meaning that I investigated and determined in consultation with the entrepreneurs which expertise was needed to turn innovation successfully in the market and proposed the right consultants/coaches to them. I supported the start-up and improvement of a biological waste water desulphurization installation. I trained and instructed operators about how the plant works, the dangers of H2S and how to work safely on the desulphurization installation. I coached two operators. Other activities: technological improvement of waste water treatment and process water production.

I optimized a flue gas flow and supported the start-up of a biological flue gas desulphurizationinstallation. I coached an analytical chemist. I Maintained contact with the authorities about the progress of the start-up concerning the effluent quality. I guided visitors on the plant.

As a researcher I studied the impact of different additives on the high pressure-induced gel formation of whey protein concentrates. This work was part of a European agro-industrial research project to investigate the potential of high pressure technology for the food industry. Tests were are conducted in cooperation with Unilever Research Vlaardingen and National Forge.
