Hi I'm a Bradford born and now Leeds based freelance Director with over 16 years experience of shooting quirky and people focused short films, documentaries and promotional videos for brands, business, public and third sector organisations. I'm also founder of award winning video production company Pocket Projects.As a freelance director I've directed live action and mixed live action/animation shoots of varying budgets from self shooting/ PD gigs to directing on 10 - 20 crew shoots.My main role is that of a director on most shoots, but on a day to day basis I conceptualise video project briefs, script write, storyboard, production plan, edit, or even get behind the camera myself to self shoot on some projects.A large part of my professional career has been as a film educator. Being able to share my passion with equally as passionate young people has always been an important part of my journey. Admittedly I no longer teach film education but I do stil advocate youth media and involve young people in some capacity on the many shoots we do.I'm a former music producer and rapper and spent many great years wearing this hat, having collaborated with other known musicians, ran a community music studio and signed to Virgin records in 2003. However two decades later I can honestly say that becoming a filmmaker really has been my calling. Nothing beats the feeling of taking an idea from script to screen, working with talent, and most importantly helping clients showcase their brilliant projects, especially those making a difference.
