My job duties include assisting patrons with ebook and digital audio book selection and download, giving technology assistance with ereaders, tablets, computers, etc, and I help teach patrons the basics of technology. I place monthly book orders for both fiction and non-fiction, weed disused and obsolete titles, and place holds. I assist patrons in the Information Department or the Help Desk, locate books and make reader's advisory suggestions, and assist in the closure of the library in the evening. I organize monthly computer education classes that the library offers for free, design new class layout and content, recruit volunteers to teach the class, teach classes when volunteers are unavailable, create monthly calendars with class information, and promote the classes every month through media. I also helped develop and run our monthly Tabletop Gaming events in association with the Assistant Director.In the absence of the Adult Services Coordinator and the Reference Librarian, I serve as the Information Department manager. I supervise and schedule staff and ensure smooth operation of the department. I handle service complaints and security issues and/or refer those to the Library Administration.I help run the library's social media outreach which includes our Facebook and Twitter. I also create new content for the library's home page to help spark patron interest.

I assist patrons in locating library materials, using the Interlibrary Loan system, and inform them of library policy. I perform some research for patrons on our databases and through internet searched, shelve books, and work on an archiving project. I have assisted in the supervision of the Young Adult area, give reader's advisory from grades K-12 as well as adults, and assist in maintaining the periodical collection. I also act as the computer class coordinator for our free monthly computer classes and have taught some of the classes.I continue to work at the Tom Green County Public Library, and received a promotion in April 2014 as a Librarian I (Digital Literacy Librarian).

Entered and modified food orders through a computerized touchscreen register. Worked quickly and easily in a fast-paced environment, took multiple food orders, handled money, gave change, prepared hot and iced beverages, baked desserts, prepared sandwiches, and hand-chopped salads to custom order. Assisted in keeping the dining area clean by wiping down tables, collected dirty dishes, and refilled condiments and ice. Washed dishes, sorted and stocked new produce, cleaned and prepared meats and produce for consumption. Assisted in opening the store in the mornings and closing in the evenings. Occasionally sent out of store to purchase food items that had sold out. Participated in out-of-store promotional events.

I answered phone calls and provided technical support for the Capital One credit card web site. I used multiple computer programs to help troubleshoot customer issues. I also have experience answering providing assistance and account information through secure e-mail programs.
