SAE/GM AutoDrive II Challenge is a four-year (2021-2025) competition sponsored by General Motors (GM) and hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International). The competition involves yearly competitions, each with different goals for the year. Created realistic environments to test and validate all systems on the car. This included creating and validating simulation environments using ROS and MathWork’s Simulink, working with other teams to ensure accurate simulation environments, and maintaining internal documentation on the simulation environments and results.

Worked with researchers to develop a testbed of an emulated Reinforcement Learning (RL) training environment for cyber operations. Studied MITRE ATT&CK frameworks for the development of threat models, and studied CALDERA, an open-source cyber security platform designed to easily automate adversary emulation and incident response. Developed CyGIL, following the OpenAI Gym framework in Python, which used a stateless environment architecture to establish a high-fidelity training environment, while presenting a sufficiently abstracted interface to enable RL training. Used VMware Workstation alongside Mininet and ONOS to run CyGIL through Software Defined Networks in an at-home lab setup and then scaled the environment to a VxRail lab and used vSphere and NSX to programmatically generate networks with 20+ nodes.

This included providing design feedback, help with fulfilling the client's demands, and on their formal written communications. As a studio teaching assistant, I mentored students on professionalism, the engineering design process, and provided feedback on their written reports.

Built innovative and sustainable solutions that solved our client's cybersecurity problems. This was made possible by designing and implementing high quality software capabilities for data center and cloud based systems using low-level programming, primarily in C++.Additionally, I designed and implemented a new automated pipeline that took a 3-4 week manual process, that took place between teams across two continents, and reduced it to 8 hours. Many challenges had to be overcome, however, the final pipeline required only 2 points of human input. Through this position, I gained valuable experience in version control software, C++, Lua, Groovy, Docker, Postman, Jenkins, AWS, Telemetry and Splunk.
