I have been privileged to lead teams of innovative, hard-working, and ambitious people across many business sectors, industries, and geographies. From China to USA, Russia to South Africa, we turned many challenges into opportunities and successes by working together following a coherent strategy and tactical plan.My approach to most things is to deep dive to understand the details and quickly rise again to assess the strategic direction. This approach has served me well throughout my general management, sales & marketing, strategy, and product development roles. I believe a leader must understand the details of an organization before effectively leading it. Planning strategically and empowering my team allowed us to consistently deliver on our commitments.I believe that knowledge sharing makes us stronger. I enjoy mentoring, participating in industry panels, and advising startups. Further, I enjoy speaking and the art of negotiations. From an early stage of my career, I participated in senior meetings with Motorola’s and clients’ CxO’s. This has provided me with confidence and clarity of approach.I’m passionate at what I do. Whether it is leading a $250m region, delivering a $10m+ project, or advising a promising startup, I aim to over deliver. I surround myself with energetic and passionate people who share the same vision and work ethic. We celebrate our wins, learn from our losses and continue moving forward. Finally, whether technology, industry, or humanity related, I always aim to learning something new. My education provided me a balanced foundation of technical background and a strong International Business and Strategy focus. My career has provided me with rich experiences.Industries: E-Commerce Consumer Electronics Communication Products Enterprise Systems and Solutions TelecommunicationsSpecialties: Commercial and Operation Leadership Sales and Marketing Leadership Development Roadmap Management Organizational Transformation

Managing Director, Middle East & AfricaMotorola Mobility, A Google Company Oct 2010 - Dec 2012Chicago, Illinois, UsI took the helm of the Middle East & Africa region during one of the most turbulant times at Motorola. The company was undergoing a significant turnaround and has succeeded to reinvent itself through its focus on the Android Operating System. This new focus on high end smartphones required a new distribution network and new channel partners. With a focused team distributed across two continents, we defined our go to market strategy to support the global company direction. We selected the most suitable markets, products, channels, and even marketing programs. We emphasized our leadership in the Android space and continued to rely on our heritage of quality and design. We developed and maintained strategic relationships with the leading telecom operators and retailers, including STC, Etisalat, Vodafone, MTN, Jarir Bookstore, Axiom Telecom, and many others. Our efforts resulted in over 150% increase in revenues and 170% increase in standard margin in 2011 vs. 2010. This was a significant milestone as we delivered positive operating earnings for the first time in the region’s five year history. -
Senior Director Of Product OperationsMotorola Mobility, A Google Company Mar 2007 - Jan 2011Chicago, Illinois, UsIn 2007, Motorola offered me to relocate to the Middle East to run the Product Operations team for the International Market region. This region included Central & Eastern Europe, Asia PAC, Middle East & Africa. These were tough times for Motorola; however, the opportunity to be involved in such a wide spanning geography was exciting. My team and I managed markets in four continents. We were responsible for all product planning and launching activities. We had direct responsibility for all sell-in activities with the major telecom operators and regional distributors/retailers.In addition, in partnership with the sales & marketing teams, I participated in all go-to-market strategy setting activities. The company was going through a significant turnaround process. We, as regional leaders, had a direct input into the company’s future direction. As part of the cost reduction activities, my team and I worked with the supply chain organization to establish new processes that reduced product inventory complexity by over 70% across the CEEMEA region. In addition, we worked with the supply chain organization to define and develop new product lines that allowed us to sustain the region during the redefinition phase. -
Director Of Program ManagementMotorola Mobility, A Google Company Jul 2004 - Mar 2007Chicago, Illinois, UsAs Director of Program Management, I was responsible for all 3G software product development programs. This included US and international programs such as the RAZR products to North America, EMEA, and Japan. My programs were destined for global telecom operators such as Vodafone, T-Mobile, AT&T, Orange, DoCoMo and Telstra. My responsibilities included senior management communication including regular progress updates with the company President and his senior leadership team. In addition, regular progress updates with our customers, marketing teams, and other key stakeholders were a core set of deliverables. All of our programs included development teams across at least four continents. We used to develop and launch at least ten different new products a year. This created a significant management and coordination challenge that my team and I were able to handle with systematic risk management, clear communication, and milestone driven approaches.I ensured that quality and data driven management are hallmarks of our team. I sponsored quality improvement initiatives, established six sigman metrics and dashbaords, and established change management processes to assess mid-project changes and provide go/no-go decisions. -
Engineering Section ManagerMotorola Solutions Jan 1994 - Jul 2004Chicago, Il, UsI joined the Secure Design Center at Motorola to manage an engineering organization responsible for designing and developing the encryption products for Motorola’s two way radio communication systems. These products were destined for all Public Safety Organizations, Federal Agencies, and even International Governments. Our products provided security for our first responders which gave all of us a significant pride in our work and efforts. I brought in a new approach for software development that focused on instituting agile software development processes and a new organizational structure. This resulted in a reduced project development cycle time by over 52% and a reduction of staffing requirements by over 37%.In addition to managing product development, my responsibilities included growing and developing my people. I established clear career growth plans for each team members and provided regular and constructive feedback. Motorola’s “Individual Dignity Entitlement” process was instrumental in providing the underlying template and framework. My team and I made sure to take full advantage of the provided support by our company. Building on that, I enrolled in an MBA program at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business, and was able to receive my MBA in 2002.
