I'm a lover of teaching and learning about all things nutrition: how to grow, how to thrive, how to feed our families and celebrate with our friends, and how to improve our ever-evolving relationship with the foods we eat every day. In my experience as a Registered Dietitian, I've found that every patient, client, and friend of mine carries a different health history, different set of goals, and a completely unique array of likes and dislikes. It's my job to personalize methods of providing our bodies what they need, in a way that makes sense and is feasible for the individual, their family, and their lifestyle. Diet culture is confusing and often misleading, and thus my nutrition philosophy is this: if the food you're eating serves a purpose, it's meant to be in your diet. Period. By the time we’re 80 years old, we won't recall how many times we ate cake or pizza or (insert assumed "bad food" here), but what we will remember very clearly is how we felt about ourselves and how we treated our bodies during the prime years of our lives. Nutrition isn't just about calories, carbs, and counting - it's also about celebration, fuel, and comfort. My goal is always to help make the healthy choice, the easy choice!
