About Rae Moors

I am a PhD candidate in Communication and Media at the University of Michigan specializing is qualitative, critical media studies research. My projects focus on digital media industries, digital cultural production/storytelling practices, technologies, platforms, media ecosystems, and associated policy. My work seeks to better understand and improve conditions of civic participation, human rights, access, and inclusion across digital media. Much of my current work focuses specifically on the video game industry.Through my research I've established working relationships across academic traditions, collaborations with civil society, and performed consulting for industry. I also use my findings and research methods to enhance media literacy and develop inclusive, student-centered teaching practices, using strategies such as innovative course design and technology integration.
