I have obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Tampa and I currently hold the designation of Certified Public Accountant, Colorado. I have worked as an auditor for 4.5 years with KPMG Bahamas before moving on to HLB Galanis & Co. where I have expanded into providing accounting, valuation and corporate services.In my capacity, I have managed audits and worked as support staff across multiple industry platforms including construction, financial services, oil & gas, and hospitality, etc. As an auditor, I have reviewed Financial Statements and related notes for compliance with IFRS, or US GAAP where applicable; I have reviewed and assessed the effectiveness of accounting procedures and internal controls; I have supervised junior staff on audit engagements, ensuring that work is effectively allocated to meet set deadlines; I have managed audits, sometimes working on multiple projects at a time; and I have conducted countless interviews with client personnel across financial and non-financial functions. As an accountant, I have prepared monthly accounting reports and year end financial statements in accordance with IFRS, and prepared monthly financial packages for BODs.As an accountant, I have learnt the importance of confidentiality, integrity, and adopting efficient work habits.
