As CTO of Skidata AG, the leader in access control systems, architect, design and implement an entirely new software and hardware product portfolio to move from a vertical nische oriented system vendor to a modern, horizontal cloud product architecture (called VINAYA). Create and build an Internet service business unit providing transaction fee based services (e.g. e-ticketing), hosting of SKIDATA and 3rd party applications and e-business and networking consultancy.

Responsible to build a product organization within Celeris from scratch to produce, support and sell a mission critical, integrated security service management platform (SECOPIA). SECOPIA is an integrated security service management platform that supports service providers or large corporations in all the activities required to use and offer professional managed security services. SECOPIA is a 100% internet-based, distributed, object oriented J2EE architecture facilitating XML and user configurable fields with exposed and documented APIs.

Founded the TTA-Group (www.ttagroup.org) for TTTech Computertechnik AG, Vienna (www.tttech.com). In December 2001 elected to Vice Chairman of the TTA-Group by all founding members, i.e. AUDI, Citroen/Peugeot, Delphi Automotive Systems, EADS Airbus Industries, Honeywell, TTTech, VW. TTA-Group’s mission is to establish TTTech’s time-triggered deterministic TTP communication technology as a cross industry standard for automotive and aerospace applications for safe real-time communication as the core technology for all drive-by-wire and fly-by-wire applications.

Support the company IPO in April 2000 (approx. € 50m successfully raised). Develop and evangelize a new product strategy. Implement a new organizational structure for development and software production units in update.com, including quality assurance, software testing, release management and web based shipping facilities. Design and development of a mission critical e-business and eCRM platform, based on J2EE, XML and other industry standards. Identification, evaluation and acquisition of two new software products for update.com in the US, including all contract negotiations in close cooperation with update.com’s US legal counsel to establish these major contracts (total >$7m), prepare all paperwork for presentation by the directors of update to the supervisory board for signature approval.

Create intellectual property and software products to establish CSE Systems as a software vendor with a successful track record and significant market share. WorkFlow® registered as a trademark for CSE Systems in 1993. CSE/WorkFlow® has received the award “Volkswirtschaftlich wertvolle Erfindung” by the “Bundesministerium für Wirtschaftliche Angelegenheiten der Republik Österreich” (Ministry for Economics, Republic of Austria) on March 24, 1995 and several industry awards (Innovationspreise). CSE/WorkFlow® gained substantial market share in all major European Telekoms. In addition the product established a significant position in central European Government bodies (Ministries, Federal and local Government institutions). German Government has set a standard (DOMEA®) based on CSE/WorkFlow®. Subsidiaries (Vienna, Munich, London, San Francisco). All systems produced by CSE Systems are still in full operational use (2007).

Responsible for all software and hardware engineers in Munich and Kongsberg, Norway plus system integration in Cupertino, CA / USA. Responsibility for GEOREC - a system for automatic acquisition and interpretation of analog, graphical data using pattern recognition methods. The system was used to generate input for CAD and digital mapping systems.CTPS - System design and implementation of the Corporate Technical Publication System, a development effort for IBM's Federal System Division and the Ford Motor Company. CTPS is a system to scan, store and manipulate digital technical drawings. The project included subcontractors in California and IBM facilities in VA, MD, NY and key technology contributors at MIT. MIILITARY MAPPING - development and technical sales support for a system used to scan mapping information and convert graphics to a computer internal format usable for navigation and flight simulation (similar to what is available today as Google Earth).

Responsible for contract development projects to fund the Institute (pattern recognition, computer graphics and digital cartography). Initiator and manager of the "Graz Terrain Model" and a production facility to create a digital cartographic database of Austria. The software (developed for MBB, today EADS) is still used in all data acquisition facilities of NATO to create the database for flight simulation and real time flight navigation. The project included pattern recognition, interpolation and rendering algorithms to build a 3D computer representation and real time 3D animation. Management of the project to create the interactive graphical editor the Geo-Information System of Wild & Co.Ltd., Heerbrugg, CH. Management of computer graphics projects such as implementation of a GKS kernel, software for graphical simulation of industrial robots and animation software for architectural applications and virtual reality applications.
