-Sort and accession samples from private and academic research facilities primarily in LA County-Prepare optical density (OD) plates usingOpentron OT-2 liquid handler or Integra Voyager pipette, measure OD and dilute samples as necessary-Perform PCR using BigDye Terminator v3.1 kit, completing plates in 30-45 minutes-Cleanup sequencing reaction product using magnetic cleaning beads and KingFisher Flex system, using Biomek 2000 workstation to prepare buffer plates-Perform Bacterial and Fungal culture extraction, PCR amplification, and sequencing for identification.-Perform buffer changes, pop7 changes and general maintenance on sequencers-Prepare reagents, buffers and standards, maintain stock room and perform general custodial duties-Maintain contact with customers regarding issues with orders-Use of single channel, multichannel, Integra and Thermo Fisher Matrix pipettes, use of Applied Biosystems Veriti and Veriti Pro Thermal Cyclers.-Adhere to GLP regulations

I had a large variety of interaction with participatants; making sure to brief and debrief them accordingly.
