Joining the workforce out of high school, I initially dove into the world of retail and customer service. I made it my focus. It was there that I sharpened my communication skills, as well as my ability to serve customers at an advanced level. I was quickly drawn to and conquered leadership roles no matter the business, whether it was retail, education, or the food industry. Regardless of industry, being able to identify the common needs of the patrons efficiently is what allowed me to stand out.My biggest struggle at 18 years of age was determining who I envisioned myself as a 25 year old, 35 year old, 45 year old, and so on. I studied on the side of working full time beginning in 2018, when I was 21 years old, and decided Political Science would be the major for my Associate's Degree, which I attained in the summer of 2022. I had the opportunity to study some of my most loved subjects: Ancient History, International Relations, and Public Speaking, to name a few. As I got older, I realized that as long as I had an amazing team to work alongside, I would feel fulfilled professionally. Upon leaving the food industry where I spent several years in a leadership role, I transitioned into the space of luxury residential hospitality. There, I was able to use my skills in communication, as well as my ability to multitask and work under pressure, to satisfy the needs of our higher class residents. While honing in on all of these qualities I'd acquired over the years, I made connections with individuals that will last a lifetime. Currently, I work under JP Ahlgren as an Associate Underwriter for the Wholesale Property Underwriting team at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where with Mr. Ahlgren as a mentor and the rest of the Wholesale Property Underwriting team by my side, I take on the duties of evaluating property schedules of values, examining catastrophe models from a pay-back perspective, rate pricing, quoting new and renewed business, and binding accounts. I have the distinct honor of kickstarting my career as an Underwriter with an amazing team and an amazing company.
