Lead the 60 members of the Program Department who have oversight of all SCA program operations that serve more than 3,500 youth and young adult participants each year. Responsibilities include:• Represent SCA as a member of the organization's Executive Team• Oversight of Program Department budgeting process to ensure maximum strategic impact of the department’s $20 million budget• Guiding administration of large scale grants designed to improve program design and implementation such that SCA’s conservation and youth development outcomes are fully realized• Working with Program staff and external partners to identify new program models and opportunities to expand the organization’s impact• Serving as a member of the organization’s leadership team with the goal of improving interdepartmental cooperation and efficiency• Acting as a liaison with the SCA Board of Trustees on program related issues and as the SCA staff contact with the Program and Risk Management Committees of the Board

Lead the establishment, maintenance and support of SCA’s national strategies in SCA’s Central region of the US. Oversee SCA operations in 16 states. Responsibilities include: • Building and retaining programs and partnerships with federal agencies and not for profit organizations• Identifying new innovative program and business ideas and opportunities• Cultivating and increasing philanthropic giving in SCA’s Central region• Oversight of the Central region office $1.5 million budget• Positioning SCA as a leader in conservation and youth development• Engaging and inspiring key SCA constituencies

Chicago Academy of Sciences and its’ Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum June 2006 – December 2014 Oversaw a multi-faceted museum education department including onsite and offsite programs for students and teachers, teens, families, and adults. Responsibilities include:• Leading budgeting, systemization, and project management efforts for the Education Department• Planning, researching and co-writing grant proposals for education programs • Serving as main departmental contact with external organizations and funding entities• Acting as a liaison with the Academy’s Board of Trustees on education related issues and serve as the Department’s primary contact with the Board• Leading the Education Department’s strategic planning efforts

Hire, train, and manage Student and Teacher Programs staff. Responsibilities included:• Overseeing the creation and implementation of teacher professional development workshops and student workshops• Working with the administration of over 20 Chicago Public Schools annually to successfully implement the Nature Museum’s outreach programs • Maintaining the budget of all student and teacher programs• Writing of progress reports and evaluations of team projects• Representing the Student and Teacher Programs team at professional conferences

Responsibilities included recruitment and training of underserved public high school students working at the museum and the development and implementation of a nature-based curriculum for junior high age students.
