Telecom South America (Tesa) is a landline telephone provider focused on corporate customers.I built a SIP softswitch that is the heart of the company’s telephony service. It handles the admission and routing of calls from/to customers and was designed as a high availability and low latency system. The service launched successfully, and over time it went through a few iterations, including a major redesign. Today it is mature and stable and handles a high volume of calls per month.I worked closely with the operations and support teams to help them to troubleshoot complex interoperability issues.I built a billing system. It collects call records from many different sources and, based on pricing plans, put a cost in each call, following regulatory rules.I built a softphone for Windows, an application that allows you to make and receive calls over the internet.
