I´m a Project Manager at Key Quimica passionate about delivering my client's vision through organization and leadership between my team (PM's), product owners and stakeholders. I'm fortunate to work on diverse projects with different clients, needs, time pressure, priorities, budget, etc., that require a wide variety of talents and skills (some of those you need to develop and others to improve). Example: critical thinking, negotiation (easy said than done), stress management, and lots of patience.I don't have a formal project manager background (you could say that project management chose me); for over 12 years, I´ve been in different marketing roles for many companies. However, as I progress in my career I notice that the responsibilities that I excelled at and enjoyed most translated well to the definition of a project manager. As a result, I started getting involved in more complex, dynamic kind of projects that had a direct impact in strategic themes (that include: business growth, customer service excellence, innovation, operational excellence, etc.).At the present time, my main goals/objectives are:- Establish a PMO (set up in agile)- Standardize/concentrate the portfolio of projects between departments- Define the organizational structure that will be used to standardize theproject-related governance processes- Facilitate the resources, methodologies, tools, and techniques to developin a agile way a project- Define metrics (KPIs), project execution rules/standards- Train the organization in agile- Manage "scope creep", emphasize in the importance of communication (between "PO", "SH", T.I. and "PM").- Adopt a proper project scheduling tool and a budgeting procedureTo conclude, it´s clear that being a project manager is not a simple task; you need to ensure that a project remains on time, with a clear project scope and working with a budgeting procedure that will help to avoid cost overruns. However, the constant challenges in every project, the incredible access to knowledge and learning, the opportunity to develop an idea to a final "product" and see the benefits: economic return, better predictability in every step of the development, and providing the right solution for you client´s needs, it´s an incredible experience and professional/personal achievement.
