Passionate about science, the pursuit of new knowledge and challenges, I entered the world of research during my undergraduate degree in Pharmacy (emphasis on Clinical Analysis) and later completed my Master's and Doctorate in the area of Microbiology and Immunology at the Institute of Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (ICB/UFMG).I am in constant learning and I like to update myself regarding scientific discoveries, by reading articles or participating in scientific events.During the six years of research work, I established the experimental model of chemotherapy-induced intestinal injury and implemented 3 methodologies in the laboratory, based on bibliographical references in the literature. During this period, I developed the skills to:- experimental design;- activity planning;- teamwork and autonomously;- training of students after joining the laboratory;- team leadership, including guidance from an intern;- communication;- search, reading and interpretation of scientific articles;- analysis and interpretation of results;- Problems solution;I also developed the skills to:- good interpersonal relationship, knowing and respecting the individuality of each person;- persistence, to achieve the proposed results and objectives;- dynamism, when performing different activities and techniques during the week;- flexibility and ability to adapt to adverse situations and overcome challenges;- emotional intelligence. In addition, for the development of the research, I acquired solid experience in in vitro techniques, such as:- molecular biology techniques (RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis and real-time PCR);- processing of biological samples for analysis by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-MS);- cultivation, isolation and identification of microorganisms;- and learned the techniques of ELISA, western blott, bacterial DNA extraction and conventional PCR for bacterial DNA sequencing analysis.After completing my doctorate, I am interested in expanding my research activities to the area of biotechnological research in in vitro diagnostics, in order to contribute more directly to promoting people's quality of life and health, through science.Contact email: rafaribeiroab@gmail.com
