Defined and implemented standards for monitoring, logging, scaling, serving, access control and deployment;- Built an internal OLAP-cube PaaS offering on top of k8s by leveraging Apache Kylin (http://kylin.apache.org/). It empowers performant and consistent visualisations for the entire company by a fraction of the cost a service like https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/analysis-services/ would charge;- Created tooling around HBase (using python and jruby) to support backup and restore automatically, mitigating the impact of an eventual DR scenario;- Pioneered running Apache Spark on top of k8s in OLX, to maximise cost-savings and minimize maintenance efforts.- Contributed to the development and support of OLX's Presto deployment (https://prestosql.io/). Responsible for building the base (infrastructure architecture and automation) to sustain GetNinjas projected growth (the audience doubled from the time I started) in a sustainable, scalable, secure and cost-effective way. Environment is nearly 100% AWS. My most signifficant achievements:- Successfully deployed and maintained Snowplow (http://snowplowanalytics.com/), an In-house Analytics platform on top of AWS (leveraged Beanstalk, EMR and Redshift to make this happen).- VPC design and migration with minimal impact in productivity and availability.- Cost optimization.- Major increase in security, performance and availability (due to several changes, the most important being the deployment of Cloudflare's CDN on top of every application component).- Migration from RDS MySQL to Aurora (speeded up the app response time in around 40%, with less administrative overhead and more scalability due to its cluster concept).- Planned and executed successfully the HTTPS migration of the web site and all its subsystems. This move allowed the company to get an SEO boost and develop new mobile features to enhance our conversion rates, like App Indexing. Another benefit of such move was to serve the application using HTTP/2, which decreased the page load time by around 30%.- Successfully deployed a high-speed HTTP caching layer (leveraged Varnish to do so) on top of the website, enabling whole pages (alongside with the HTTP/2 optimization aforementioned) to be delivered in less than 2 seconds, against previous average load time of around 7 seconds.

As a AWS Professional Services team member, I helped LATAM Enterprise Customers to leverage AWS solutions fully integrated with their current infrastructure, by providing guidance and advisory in defining IT Strategy and Operations in an Hybrid IT environment (cloud and on premises).

Responsible for developing scalable, cost-effective, secure and performatic solutions for all the digital products of Abril Media Group.

Responsible for architecting, developing and maintaining the internal systems of Abril Group's Internet Operations area.The systems are:- Billing (billing system, involving quite complex and very specific knowledge of the area. Developed using PHP and MySQL);- ACIA (developed in JAVA to invalidate content on Akamai CDN in an automated fashion);- BACIA (a set of HTTP-based APIs - also called REST - to group and expose resources necessary for other systems, using an uniform interface);- SIVUCA (inventory system, with workflow for resource allocation)For over two thirds of this experience, I worked as a technical team leader.

My first attempt to get into the IT market as an entrepreneur, rather than an employee. We developed solutions for the area of ​​Private Security and Condominiums - basically management systems - but the funds were not enough to sustain the company costs before I could have any return on investment.I hired 3 persons to develop the project, while I was focused in gathering business requirements, bringing customers to try the product and later pay for its use, architecting the system and the establishment of a stable and reliable development process. It was a fantastic experience, it really improved my communication and project management skills, competencies I never had the opportunity to develop before.

Responsible for gathering business requirements, architecting, development and deployment of SIS-QBE solution (an integrator of insurance companies, importing and exporting positional-layout files of various types) and WFM (a work force management solution for telecommunications companies).WFM is basically a server-side PHP application that orchestrates the work of technicians, that are equiped with a mobile phone with a J2ME application. The assignment of a technician is made by a support team with a PHP application that plots a map of the São Paulo region, with the last known location of the technicians and the latest occurrences and their respective locations.The idea was to assign automatically, depending on a few criteria, like criticity, distance, technical specialty and equipment needed. But this part - unfortunately - never got out of the paper.

Responsible for developing, maintaining and improving the TI Saúde system, whose main role was to provide an easy way for health service providers (like hospitals, clinics, medical professionals) to bill the health insurance companies the medical procedures their insured customers.

Responsible for developing new features and fixing bugs for the Metafarm system, which works as an ERP for Agribusiness (worked most of the time with the Cattle Management module). Also acted as an IT consultant in external projects, in partnership with experts in agribusiness (Forest Engineers and Agronomists).

Responsible for architecting, developing and maintaining management software for Shared Web Hosting (complete workflow for purchasing domain involving several steps, such as activation of specific services within their proper usage quotas, in accordance with the purchased plan). At the time, we developed the entire solution using SOA architecture, decoupling components to operate independently and enabling the reuse by other systems. I was also responsible for architecting and maintaining the infrastructure of the systems we developed.

Responsible for the administration of all UNIX-based servers (Linux, BSD, Solaris) of the IFX internet provider (around 200 physical servers).

Responsible for monitoring dedicated services contracted from IFX as dedicated links and co-locations. Performed troubleshoot on Cisco equipment, and was also responsible for the backup procedure during this period.
