Tackled advanced information retrieval problems within gigantic text datasets, building and prioritizing the work of a team of ~20 highly skilled and opinionated developers. Within a 2-year period, we defined metrics for success in search, implemented infrastructure to conduct online experiments from scratch, executed hundreds of those experiments, improving our main success metrics significantly, while also capturing opportunities in performance and cost.During most of 2023, shifted the focus from classical information retrieval to generative ai interfaces, with the aim of delivering high-quality answers to intricate questions in the legal domain, leveraging a mix of RAG techniques, grounding, prompt optimization, graph-based data and quality assurance processes. Led the development of a AI-heavy prototype that used a mix of commercial and proprietary generative models and is currently being used by tens of thousands of paying users from the Legal Research product.

Joined Pistil pre-PMF and created structures that would allow scalability and quality for the data pipeline while discovering what to do with the data. Implemented and improved processes for entity resolution for strains, brands and developed a framework that would allow for iteration on this process to become faster and less-specialized.Grew the data team from 2 to 9 people, selecting and training the newcomers in key processes, while transferring ownership and coaching them in different matters. Created key documentation for onboarding process and business conventions.Grew the product from 1-category-beta to 5 categories, used by more than 20 cannabis companies.

Founded HRtech company (Neurastream) that used webscraping techniques to find applicants with publicly-available data (from Github, Stackoverflow, Linkedin, Plataforma Lattes...). As CTO, developed the first version of the MVP, hired and led a team, raised a seed round of ~700K BRL, grew this team to 12 people, sold SaaS product to 20 companies, failed miserably in truly solving their hiring problem.Pivoted with less than 100k BRL in the bank to truly attack the root cause of the issue. Renamed the business to Arbyte, a technical bootcamp operating the Income Share Agreement (ISA) model in Brazil. Hired and trained the full team of professors, selected 180 students, graduated 120 of them, with employment rates close to 70%. Generated a credit portfolio of ~2M BRL. We were able to achieve great results, but we lacked the cash flow to make the business break even. We finished our activities in november / 2020.
