- Architected and implemented a Managed File Transfer solution to automate ingestion of CSV reports from SFTP servers into Snowflake. Reducing human error and maximizing efficiency. Powered by Airflow and AWS Family Transfer.- Refactored pipeline that processed +5M rows per hour using Snowflake streams. Saving ~$27K annually.- Architected and implemented our dbt CI/CD pipeline using CircleCI, Github Actions and Snowflake. It has allowed scaling modeling collaboration by 3x (approximately from 2 to 6 collaborators).- Led the vendor selection, POC and initial integration of Hightouch as our Reverse ETL platform. Allowing us to deprecate 9+ custom Ruby pipelines and to add trust in the Salesforce data export process. Also substantially lowering the learning curve to troubleshoot and implement new reverse ETL pipelines.- I was the first Data Services team hire. I have onboarded many teammates and have been an active advocate for the well-being and growth of this team. It has helped us become a high performing team with trust, camaraderie, psychological safety and grit as foundation.

- Created the only monitoring dashboard that allowed BizOps and Data team to monitor the data warehouse status and query performance.- Advocated for and delivered the first dbt model in the organization. This paved the way for choosing dbt as our main code data model framework.- Lead the effort to create onboarding documentation as part of my own onboarding. This documentation was instrumental when I onboarded 3+ contract and full time data engineers to our legacy codebase.- Planned, led and implemented the upgrade of our Tableau Server deployment. It had not been upgraded in years. Delivered without any data loss, no downtime and buy in from all business users.- First Data Services team hire.

- Led the planning and successful execution of a POC to migrate our warehouse from PostgreSQL to Snowflake. The outcome was the consensus on adopting Snowflake.- Responsible for writing business/tech requirements and tech spec to rewrite our data platform architecture.- Led R&D, planning and development of the data testing architecture for our DBT data models. - Proposed and created a Python script to backfill events from our Application logs (Papertrail) into our warehouse (PostgreSQL). It saved us from asking a 3rd party application to replay days worth of webhook event data. This was one of our most disruptive downtimes. I also led the Postmortem. - Joined the Data Eng team. I oversee (w/ another SSE) the health of our ETL pipelines (Snowplow, Fivetran, RabbitMQ, DBT), our data lake (S3), our Warehouse (PostgresSQL), BI Tools (Looker), and automation server (Jenkins on EC2).

SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Jan 2014 - June 2015)- Led the integration of Google Charts API to our reporting platform. Increasing the level of engagement of our clients with their data.- Formed part of the core team of engineers that refactored our platform's front end. Gained exposure to BDD and CI systems as I was required to write tests for my code.- Led the refactoring of our application logic responsible for exporting thousands of relational rows of data from our postgreSQL databases to XLS, PDF, and CSV format. Decreasing the memory and time required for processing as well as increasing 3x the amount of data that could be exported at once.- Created a Bit.ly clone for our internal commenting system in our civic engagement platform.- Built and admin management feature to setup automated creation of requests by integrating Twilio's API. Configurable by city staff. Having city staff manage their automated request creation hotline, freed up our account managers and tech team from that responsibility.- Contributed features to our PHP SDK and back end RAILS API, as well as our front end home grown JavaScript framework that made up our new decoupled front end platform.JR. SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Jan 2013 - Jan 2014)- Implemented the first export to xls, csv, txt, and pdf feature in the platform using the PHPExcel, and mPDF libraries.- Added filtering features to our platform's reporting tool. I used extensive SQL.- Contributed bug fixes and worked on feature requests from our city clients.- Assisted account managers with SQL queries.
