Rafael Pástor is the founding partner of Pástor Environmental Law Firm and Allpa Labs, an innovative think tank dedicated to the creation of software and technologies that address environmental challenges through advanced technological solutions. With a solid reputation as an expert in environmental law and regulation in Ecuador, Rafael has led projects that merge legislation with sustainable technology.Before establishing his own firm and think tank, he headed the Regulatory Compliance and Environment units in prestigious law firms in the country, specializing in regulation, mergers, acquisitions, and litigation, with a focus on the development of ecological and technological projects. Rafael also leads the implementation of artificial intelligence solutions for environmental management at Allpa Labs.In addition, Rafael served as the Civil Society Representative Director of the Environmental and Social Investment Fund (FIAS) and was a member of its Investment Committee.Rafael holds a master's degree in Business Law from the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil and multiple specializations in Compliance and Sustainable Business Management from The George Washington University - School of Business, as well as international certifications such as ISO14001 Internal Auditor.Rafael is a Fellow of the Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship at Yale University and holds key roles in international organizations including being Vice Chair in the Environment, Energy, and Resources (SEER) section of the International Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) and Officer in the Environment, Health and Safety Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA).As a graduate and undergraduate professor at the University of Especialidades Espíritu Santo (UEES), Rafael teaches Environmental Incentives and Environmental Law respectively, where he promotes the integration of sustainability into legal practice among future generations of lawyers. He is an active columnist and his articles in prestigious international publications explore topics such as artificial intelligence in the environmental field, the ecological transition in Ecuador, and other crucial debates for the future of environmental law.He has written various articles in important newspapers and international magazines addressing topics including: i) Artificial Intelligence and the Environment; ii) Towards an Ecological Transition in Ecuador; iii) Brotherhood: A Paradigm Shift.
