I am honoured to announce that I have joined Universidad de la República in Uruguay as 'Profesor Titular del Departamento de Ciencias de la Administración' with specialisation in Financial Management in Public Administration at the Faculty of Economic and Administration Sciences (FCEA). My focus will be on the topic of Foresight and Sustainable Innovation. I look forward to contributing to the academic community and advancing research in these critical areas.

I am honoured to start a new position as Adjunct Professor in International Business Trade, Economics and Industrial Marketing at the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) in Poland. I will be leading the courses on International Business Trade and Economics, as well as on International Industrial Marketing. In addition to lecturing, I will be supporting the collaborative research and internationalisation agendas for the Faculty, building bridges with other key players in the local, national and international innovation ecosystems.

Since October 2020 I took the non-Executive role of 'External Director' at Futures Diamond Ltd.

Futures Diamond is an innovation systems company specialised in the provision of information technology (IT) and software solutions to government, business, research and education actors at local, national and international levels. Our IT systems can be adapted to meet the methodological needs of most research and innovation processes.

We are taking a new approach to short executive courses to provide agile and rapid training on how to design and manage the five phases of a SMART foresight and futures research process: Scoping, Mobilising, Anticipating, Recommending and Transforming.

Our method-based approach will be beneficial for anyone interested in designing, implementing, coordinating, managing or evaluating (both ex ante and ex post) processes related to foresight projects or the application of specific foresight methods.

This is a virtual and interactive course in which we use a case study-based approach to offer agile and rapid training on rationales, approaches, frameworks, methods and outcomes from iconic and recently completed foresight projects in multiple application areas.

Since July 2007 Dr Popper has been Director of the Executive Education Course on Foresight and Sustainable Futures, which from 2022 is delivered by the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR) in partnership with Futures Diamond Ltd.

Since 2020 Dr Popper is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR) of the University of Manchester.

Since 2018 Dr Popper is Honorary Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR) of the University of Manchester.

Since 2002 Dr Popper has worked at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (formerly PREST) of the University of Manchester as a researcher, scientific coordinator and Principal Investigator (PI) in several foresight and horizon scanning (FHS) research projects. As for his teaching, Dr Popper has been co-Director of postgraduate courses on foresight at the University of Manchester; co-Director of Executive Education courses for Foresight organisers, sponsors and practitioners; and Director of the Summer/Winter Schools of the International Foresight Academy (2011-2014). He has been guest lecturer in many European and Latin American universities and he has designed and delivered short courses and speeches for a large variety of audiences in the public, private and academic sectors. Dr Popper has also been member of expert panels of the European Commission, keynote speaker for the British Council, UK Royal Society and consultant for the World Bank and several national/regional governments in Europe, Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

Łukasiewicz - Centre for Foresight and Internationalisation (CFI) will focus on forward- and outward-looking activities for knowledge valorisation, knowledge co-creation and knowledge sharing in the fields of science, technology, innovation, management, sustainability and foresight studies. The purpose of forming CFI is to build on the momentum created by the Łukasiewicz Research Network (ŁRN) and support the Łukasiewicz - Centre for Technology Assessment (COT) and all ŁRN institutes by boosting collaborative research, contract research, commercialisation of science while accelerating the internationalisation of Polish science by acting as a catalyser for research grant applications.

At VTT I have worked as Principal Scientist in Business, Foresight and Innovation related projects from 1st August 2016 until 31st August 2021. After 5 years and 1 month I recognised it was about time for me to take my professional career to the next level.

Since January 2018 I took a remote part-time appointment as Professor of Foresight and STI Governance at the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK) of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Russia. My main role in this position was to teach for one academic term at the ISSEK/HSE Masters Course on 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy' and to assess 20 Masters theses.

Horizon scanning is a method used in thinking about, and planning for, the long-term future. Between 2001-2002 Dr Popper worked for the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the International Centre for Science and High Technology (ICS) in Italy as manager of the capacity building activities of the Technology Foresight Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (TFLAC). During this time he also delivered training courses for UNIDO Technology Foresight Programme for Central and Easter Europe and Newly Independent States (TFCEE/NIS).
