As the Co-founder of KADA, Raf’s key responsibilities lie with the development and execution of the sales and platform strategy, ensuring the platform meets the companies end goals and its key performance indicators. The role interfaces with senior stakeholders from various organisations primarily in the C-suite, discussing and aligning the benefits of the platform with respect to their key issues and or business drivers.

The remit of the Chief Data Officer is to ensure that the execution of the Information Management strategy, which underpins the success of the overall BFS Strategic goals. Working with senior stakeholders across BFS and Macquarie-wide, the scope of the role is to enhance the management of information within the group, specifically providing key direction in the development of Customer Information and Enterprise Data/Analytics. Key areas of responsibility relate to validating and then executing the BFS Information Management strategy, ensuring consistent, accurate, timely, fit-for-purpose information is available across the BFS group. This coupled with the establishment and overseeing of the appropriate governance, policies and processes to realise the group’s Information Management goals, extending to Business Architecture and Information Security.

The role centres around managing the organisations enterprise-wide information management platform, assets and its associated components. Be it for ingestion, storage or consumption, in order to effectively enable the business to conduct deep data analytics and reporting execution. It focuses on the vast and disparate array of data driven by market, customer, regulatory reporting, risk management, financials, shareholder value or other considerations within a financials services organisation.It ensures the effective and efficient usage of data storage, integration tools, and their associated data administration and data mining functions. Maintaining a strong corporate governance in place to enable synergies organisation wide, through common information elements, thereby enabling enterprise wide reuse.

Deploy and manage the technology delivery and teams across the OPT program. A large scale group wide initiative designed to implement a new workflow platform across the ANZ, delivering optimisation in customer servicing, productivity uplifts, simplification and standardisation. Maximising technology platform re-use and group wide technology standardisation.

Integrate the Royal Bank of Scotland assets into ANZ, subject to strict regulatory and commercial timelines. The RBS acquisition consisted of 1.6 million customers, 6500 staff, and 85 branch network across 6 Asian geographies. A key challenge with this integration was the disparity amongst source systems (acquired) and target systems (end state), as well as the significant change in organisational structures and operations.

Deploy a new core banking platform with Retail, Wealth and Institutional capability across 13 geographies in Asia, aligned with ANZ Asia growth strategy. The platform deployment needed to ensure that the customer experience for over 2 million customers across the region was enhanced, as well as reconfiguring the product base, processes and the underlying technology that supports the change.

Having been transferred from the Group Program management team to assist the Technology division to develop and manage the creation of the Technology strategy for ANZ Group inconjunction with the CIO and CTO, aligning business value drivers with Technology outcomes. Then translating those initiatives into deliverable programs of work, set up for success and delivering to time and cost parameters, with a total technology spend of $200 million.

Group Program management team a subset of the Risk Division and was tasked with the governance at a group level of all major programs and projects across the bank, with oversight of programs in excess of $15 million, with the total portfolio averaging $500 million. The role was to ensure that key programs were setup correctly, optimised for delivery and where programs or projects were in stress, intervene in order to either remediate the program or recommend to the Committee a closure of the program and ceasing funding.

Raf primarily worked with Oracle’s systems development and program execution teams, to deploy HRM and Finance systems solutions to various clients across the European region. Raf was responsible for overseeing and program managing 4 major programs to various clients, from payroll - HRMS, to eChannels, GL and accounts payable.
