About Rafer Friedman

I am a recent graduate of American University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and American Studies with a certificate in Leadership & Ethical Development. I am passionate about supporting innovative solutions that address climate change through education, public policy, and sustainable business and technology. I am currently a fundraising fellow for the Farm Link Project and am leading an independent research project for the National Science Foundation RECIPES project. As the Co-Founder and President of the Food Recovery Network chapter at AU, I have facilitated partnerships with DC and AU Police Departments, religious organizations, food recovery centers, and University offices to work to address food insecurity in DC. I’ve cultivated skills in project management, arcGIS, environmental justice and policy, and critical thinking. I value collaboration and believe it is at the center of fighting climate change.
