Results published here: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10287704Electrical appliance detection – used ICP level electricity consumption data to detect unregistered solar installations, electric space heating, hot water cylinders, and EVs. Focus was given to EVs due to their high detection accuracy and large potential network impacts.Gas appliance detection - using monthly ICP-level gas consumption volumes with weather data to detect gas-powered space heating and water heating appliances. These are used to determine electrification rates by appliance type and the consequent impact on future electricity demand.Public EV chargers – carried out in-depth analysis on data from Vector’s public EV chargers to determine impacts of rapid charging on our network and assist the finance team in the process of selling the chargers.Zone-sub and feeder peak detection – built and maintained a time series model integrated with zone-sub and feeder demand data from the OSIsoft PI system to remove outlier values caused by outage related rerouting, etc. Call center customer satisfaction - built the data engineering pipelines to process transcription data from our call-center then carried out theme detection and sentiment analysis to analyse why customers call and what issues and interventions are associated with positive/negative customer sentiment.Hot water modelling – carried out mathematical modelling of residential hot water cylinders under various seasons and usage patterns to determine the customer impacts (cold showers) associated with smart hot water cylinder control.Power quality issue detection – used voltage and current data to detect loose neutral wires and other power quality issues on the LV network.
