I am a Supply Chain Management, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering graduate with global work experience. I assist businesses to achieve processes improvement in supply chain, manufacturing, and Quality Control. In addition, I assist businesses to continuously reduce costs through continuous improvement activities through procurement, manufacturing process improvement, and quality assurance. While working within the manufacturing industries, I realized that in the past few years, disruptions have shaken the global supply chain. Increased demand for delivered goods challenged manufacturing centers’ abilities to keep up. Restrictions slowed transit and worker shortages caused deliveries to back up in ports. These disruptions and their effects on manufacturing have encouraged me to develop skills in the supply chain. While working as a manufacturing engineer within an aerospace company I encountered significant challenges due to supply chain disruptions. Hence, I decided to pursue a degree in supply chain and felt like the integration of my manufacturing knowledge with supply chain skills will accelerate my career development. Currently I am working as an Engineering Buyers within the Research and Development team of MacDon Industries. Completed my Bachelor’s in Aerospace Systems Engineering and my Master’s in Mechanical Engineering. I worked for more than 3 years in manufacturing, quality control, and procurement. Then I decided to add diversity to my career and thought supply chain will work as a booster. I worked in collaboration with manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain to ensure purchased products/machine spares meet all quality requirements as stated on purchase orders and final products meet customers’ quality standards.I investigated various quality issues of products and processes using various root cause analysis tools e.g. The 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, Failure Mood Effect Analysis (FMEA) and implemented solutions to minimize nonconformity of turbine blades and nozzle guide vanes (NGVs).I learned to work efficiently under pressure while working on various projects simultaneously. While working on various projects simultaneously, I learned to prioritize tasks based on their urgency and impact on business. My goal is to work in a managerial position in supply chain management within a manufacturing industry. Hence, I want to start my career in the supply chain within a manufacturing company.
