I was presented with this fantastic opportunity to step up and take on this position as Shipping Coordinator after an employee departure. I knew from the beginning that taking on this role would involve a steep learning curve due to my lack of logistics experience, but I knew that the strong business relationships which I have developed with our customers over the last 6 years would be a huge benefit.In my role as Shipping Coordinator, I was responsible for: arranging the export of machines, tooling, spare parts, samples, as well as arranging some imports from the supplier end. I worked directly with our customers (and agents) to ensure they were getting the best shipping rates possible while providing a high level of customer service they deserved. I made sure to keep our customers informed during every phase of their shipment. I liaised with agents, customs brokers, freight forwarders and carriers to ensure as much transparency as possible.
