During my tenure at Florida Department of Health I led the COVID-19 epidemiology investigations and contact tracing, partnering with the Manatee County School District on identifying and preventing COVID-19 outbreaks. I continuously championed mitigation efforts through educating general public as well as nursing home and long-term care facilities on COVID-19 prevention and infection control measures. Highlights from this tenure include: • Directed group of 10 contact tracers as Lead Epidemiologist across community engagement and assessment report preparation through leveraging and improving clinical as well as leadership skills.• Served as liaison between clinical services and department of epidemiology.• Spearheaded data collection and analysis, generating mortality rates due to different health conditions as well as those due to COVID-19 in Manatee County and presented findings supervisor and other stakeholders• Engaged community members, providing guidance on answering any questions, and correcting myths and false beliefs, on COVID-19, providing guidelines on quarantine and isolation guidelines based on CDC data.

In my capacity as a remote Case Manager Assistant I served as a patient advocate, promoting home health needs in line with positive health outcomes and quality of life. I also led the coordination of patient care utilizing multidisciplinary approaches for holistic approach and enhanced healthcare service provision.

While completing my Master of Public Health I learned innovative industry theories and procedures utilized in public health sector with focus on  socio-economic determinants of health and health inequality. I honed my skills across statistical analysis using SPSS software, literature reviews, writing scientific articles, and presenting results to prominent stakeholders. • Project/Thesis: “Commit to be Fit: Analysis of USF College of Public Health’s graduate students’ exercise behavior and assessment of a new web exercise portal”.• Completed internships with Suncoast Health Council and REACHUP Inc. where I led the refinement of client satisfaction survey methodology to significantly improve response rates by adjusting questions to enhance patient understanding.

Led major surgeries as well as minor procedures including complex fracture fixations, joint replacements surgeries, joint aspirations, dislocation reduction, and abscess drainage. Enforced strict compliance with health and safety regulations to minimize spread of disease and infection.Some key achievements in this role include: • Treated up to 25 patient daily, ensuring alignment with standards pledged in Hippocratic oath and promoting positive patient outcomes.
