I am often described as an atypical person: I am a Software Engineer by trade, but extrovert and now enjoying leading teams and watching people excel in what they do. My technical background is more than 10 years of experience in designing and developing various types of software systems from virtual reality to information gathering and analytics systems.I find that in everything I do, it helps to take a holistic view of the system, the person, the team, the world. The system you develop or support interfaces with other systems and operates in an environment governed by many rules, expectations, and even non-explicit concerns. The person you work with operates in many circles, professional and private, has professional skills and personal traits, all of which are to be considered to get the best out of the relationship, teamwork, collaboration, and ultimately to help the person, the client, and/or the company to succeed.Although life changes and I spend most time leading teams, I still feel the Software Engineer under the surface and like to discuss technical visions and solutions. And, on occasion I manage to find time to do pet-projects or small investigations to keep my software engineering skills and thinking alert.
