• Developing a containerized crawler built using Chrome DevTools and Pyppeteer (Python version of puppeteer) that can visit 100+ websites per day, per instance and mimic user interaction in order to generate datasets.
• Building and simulating various attack scenarios in order to test our system, such as injecting a key logger by simulating the compromise of a CDN.
• Generating several tools that drive both the development and analysis of our attack detection system.
• Finding and eliminating several bottlenecks across our tools, allowing us to efficiently crawl 1000+ websites per day and analyze results. Key changes include sharding data across multiple Neo4j instances.
• Developed and open-sourced a near-real-time (stream processing) log reduction library that can reduce the size of Linux audit logs by 3x without affecting dependency analysis. Library based on a recent NEC Labs paper.
