As Agronomy lead Based at Guntur, looking after Coastal Andhra Pradesh for NPI (new product initiatives) for CP & seed (corn & Veg) development by conducting trials at different locations for evaluating the efficiency & product fitment of CP chemicals. Conducting strip trials for NPI hybrids (corn & veg) at different locations in AP for evaluating the best hybrids. Showcasing the NPIs (CP & Seed) to internal & external stack holders before the product release to build strong communication & base for the team. Conducting training programs for internal & external stack holders on product knowledge & complaint handling in different crop programs. Responsible for Demand Generation activities at key market places for new NPI's to establish & strengthen the product by getting more market share.

As Applied Genetics Associate, I am responsible for the entire Eluru farm with respect to research and administration. In terms of research, it is related to hybrid seed production of adequate quantity of hybrid seeds from A, X, R isolation. Other activities include staggered sowing, flowering observations for Nick adjustments, application of GA3 at time of flowering and producing better seed sets in hybrid production. Conduct MLFT (Multi-Function Fertility Trials) every season and ensure good quality of data for analysis. A key achievement here can be categorized as participating in and ensuring that hybrid seed production is done throughout the year basis with use of staggered sowing method versus traditional seasonal production of crops like Rabi/Kharif.Administrative duties include site day-to-day upkeep and operations, preparation of work plans in advance, procurement, recruitment and training of the manpower.

In this company, I was involved in assisting in plant/line selection in back-cross nurseries (BC0 to BC4) with marker data & in test cross nurseries. Other key activities included breeder seed production of new/old male (R) and female (AB) codes, production of 100% pure nucleus seeds of coded male and female inbred, line purification and nucleus seed production of females (A, B) and males (R), handing over of seeds of selected material for screening of pest, diseases and grain quality analysis and implementing crossing plans and produced produce healthy number of R/R, B/B-F1s involving selected BLB, BPH and Blast donor.

This was the start of my career and I joined as a Research Office right after my post-graduation. This was a hands-on research and learning experience and my activities revolved around preparation of layout for MLT trials for different locations and analysis of data at end of season, implementation of crossing plans in order to produce good number of R/R, B/B-F1s involving selected BLB, BPH and Blast donor, production of large number of R3, R2, R1, 200L and TC male hybrids with specified tester line combinations by implementing seed production plans, maintenance of the pedigree identity by creating experiments and forwarding the selection for next generation using PRISM, seed packing and dispatch of various trial materials of nurseries and hybrids, Nick adjustments and participation in harvesting, threshing, cleaning and dispatching of hybrid seeds as per requirements
