And offer substitutions where it is not readily available.•Look for new suppliers and evaluate their ability to service in partnership. Work with suppliers to onboard ensuring clarity of working expectations, quality standards and price negotiations.•Communicate status of developments to Design and Merchandising team in weekly review meetings. And establish correct fabric target prices at the initiation for each development.•Partner with each department to ensure all technical limitations are addressed so that all issues are resolved before any development starts.•Ensuring all material must meet buyers’ quality standards and testing parameters. Coordinating with Testing Laboratories for product testing, make protocols and updates.•Managing and approving all color dips/desk looms/strike-offs/bulk lots/shade bands.•Manage the organization and maintenance of the fabric development library.

Sustainable strategy: Organic cotton / REEL cotton & others. Responsible for overall Organic Cotton Supply Chain of C&A and to achieve the targets of Organic garments.Mapping and controlling C&A’s complete organic supply chain including China, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. Which includes Farm Project, Ginner, Spinner, Weaving, and ManufacturingCoordinating with almost all spinning mills of India / Bangladesh for the C&A yarn sourcing.Responsible for maintaining data base of all spinners / fabric manufacturer of India / Bangladesh.Coordinating with all C&A supply chain partners for their organic certification process.Responsible for presenting the monthly data of organic supply chain to C&A management.Visiting cotton fields to evaluate the quality of cotton.Responsible for Auditing the mills and generate report for the nomination process.Responsible for evaluating the organic certification GOTS / OE of each garment manufacturer / spinner.Technical and sourcing responsibilities:•Complete coordination with garment merchants / C&A team right from the development to bulk fabric procurement.•Handling total fabric sourcing of C&A – both woven and knits. •Procurement of raw materials & involved in their procurement strategy for India / Srilanka & Bangladesh. •Product costing and benchmarking the prices to reduce the supplier cost price of the garment.•Meeting and contribution of product presentation with customers.•Mills & Vendor matrix development.•Product risk analysis & de-risking.•Provide technical consultation to mills / garment manufacturers with respect to fabric / garment issues.•Coordinating with all reputed textile laboratories for the results / decision.•Product development / presentations to the buyer as per their requirement.•Handling total Yarn & knits fabric team of C&A India.•Supporting the mapping and establishment of Mills for the knits/woven area

• Product Development of new fabric concepts based on trends and seasons consistently in coordination with Design team.• Detailed technical knowledge of various types of fabrics like woven, knits, denims etc & their source in country & overseas. Have strong negotiation skills and responsible for ensuring timely delivery of quality fabrics for production.• Detailed knowledge of construction, look & feel of various types of fabrics & the effect to come on them after stitching, washing, printing, dyeing & other processes of garment manufacturing.• To go through the detailed test reports submitted by the suppliers from SGS,BV or ITS and to provide solutions for the tests which are not meeting the minimum requirements.• To analyze the lab dips submitted and to give the shade approvals as per the buyer standards.• Technical Trouble shooting at all & any level(s) of the Line.• Coordination / Compliance of vendors & mills• To nominate the mills and fabric manufacturers to the concerned vendors and also sourcing the fabrics knits as well as woven.• To review the submitted fabric test reports in detail and to take the necessary approvals from the buyer in case if not meeting the requirements.• To receive technical packages from the buyers, verification of quality parameters & all technical clarifications.• Day to day coordination with the fabric suppliers for the running production orders• Conducting a critical path meeting with the factories and suppliers in coordination with UK team.• Responsible for fabric inspection

• Quality assurance: -Auditing all fabric, pilot, inline, mid and final inspection PCs/reports and advising QC, supplier and merchandiser if any quality problem found in inspection report.• Solving various problems involved in production of fabric and garments• Anticipating & solving fabric related problem (dyeing, printing &finishing)• Responsible for getting lab testing done on fabrics /garments through buyers nominated lab as per specific buyer’s requirements.• Allocate appropriate wash care instructions on the basis of lab test results.• Working on new fabric/garment finish/wash techniques.• Responsible for color /shade approval for bulk production dye lots.• Souring and development- to source new qualities for buyers as per requirement, to maintain or update fabric Sourcing library any specific & immediate Or quick package for buyer .• Development – analysis of new developments to check technical• Details (approx. count, construction, weight, content, etc.,) of original Buyer’s • Swatches for developments.• Working with the design studios for sales samples development so as to reduce the lead time for initial sample making.
