Founding member of the engineering team, spearheading the product from inception and assembling a high-performance, multidisciplinary Platform team from the ground up. The Platform team encompassed Backend Engineering, Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering (ALE), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Information Security. The team played a key role in developing an industry-leading AI Insurtech product and platform.

Introduce Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) as a discipline, that works horizontally across engineering to build and maintain infrastructure services and, introduce processes that enable the engineering team to deliver stable and resilient software products without compromising on velocity. These would be systems like Infrastructure automation and configuration management, Monitoring & Alerting as a platform, Automated CI and Deployments, continuous cost management, and performance engineering. Instrumental in developing the building blocks for the data warehouse and platform improvements for database performance.In the same vein, working towards establishing a formal Information Security Program, introduce policies, and best practices around cybersecurity, which resulted in my team spearheading the effort in the successful completion of SOC2 certification.

* Automating and Orchestrating cloud infrastructure (aws and azure) using ansible* Developing Devops process and culture (CI & CD)- developed a build and deployment platform using ansible that provided reliable and dependable system to release code in production. This was further simplified by using jenkins jobs to drive the release process. Ops was freed from doing release work, and to move on to other tasks.- created automated "workflows" in ansible that help us to think about automating certain tasks, such as spawning new clusters for difference services (mongodb, nginx, elasticsearch, redis, kafka, postgres etc). These workflows then help us in further automating ops tasks.- Jenkins platform used for automated jobs, continuous integration, and a general task runner. We made projects are dead simple to onboard, with immediate dev feedback for any issues.- Performance engineering for various services, such as mongodb, elasticsearch, kafka and as well as JVM tuning for the application.

- Maintain and help scale LinkedIn infrastructure.- Automated network switch and system configurations that reduced system build times from 20 to 10 minutes—built using Python and Expect. This also resulted in reliable and maintainable processes, with minimal human intervention.- Automated tasks and configurations using CFEngine on thousands of systems.- Deployed an irc bot (phenny), and wrote custom modules to help with notification and feedback from various external services, like alerting, maintenance activities, job status, etc.- Built a password store using gpg encryption for secure and seamless password retrieval and storage. This also involved deploying gpg key server for use across LinkedIn Infra.

- Resolved customer production issues requiring in-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (4, 5 & 6) and other Red Hat products of high complexity such as Red Hat Cluster and GFS.- Specialised and provided consultation on Linux kernel and performance tuning issues related to running databases such as Oracle.- As the backup "SBR coach" for networking domain, assisted in resolving complex issues related to networking.- Mentored junior associates, providing technical guidance and training.

As part of a core team of IT administrators, deployed and maintained IT solutions of varying complexity across Linux, Solaris and Windows Platforms. These include core infrastructure services such as DNS, Email, VPN, Internet Gateway, Monitoring, etc. The experience helped me on building strong fundamentals, with a focus on practical learning. It also provided an opportunity to work on big enterprise systems and networks such as the Solaris Sparc platform.
