About Ragi Rajagopalan
My professional interests lie in developing accurate predictions of weather phenomena which I believe would have a major role in helping people in their daily lives. The time I spent with my dad during my childhood days, watching the stars from our terrace and indulge in conversations regarding weather, climate and the universe, still motivates me to learn more and contribute to the welfare of society and nature in any possible way.Presently, I have over 10+ years of experience working with numerical models, observational analysis, parametrization, data analysis tools and collaborating with research teams.I embrace new challenges as I continue in the path I chose from my early days: ‘Understand more about the climate system and make life better through a peaceful and sustainable living in the nature.’My research interests include: dynamic meteorology, physical meteorology, parameterization, data analysis, satellite meteorology, LIDAR technology, cloud microphysical properties, aerosols, data assimilation, and numerical modelling studies.Personally my interest are diving, trekking, hiking and have started a travel company in India (Infinitrails) with a few friends, biking, badminton, swimming etc.
