I'm a proud freshwater Wiradjuri woman, currently living on Bundjalung land. With a career deeply embedded in serving my Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, I’m honoured to hold the position of A/General Manager – Service Delivery, Aboriginal Home Health for Australian Unity. I’m deeply commitment to improving health outcomes and empowering our Elders.In my current role, I oversee the region’s the domestic, personal, allied health, nursing, social, meal and transport care services for Australian Unity. I’m proud to work with the largest team of identified staff in our region, ensuring culturally appropriate care for our Indigenous Elders, while fostering an environment where our Elders can drive their healthcare journey.Leadership and GovernanceI also sit on the Board of Directors for Twin Towns Services Club, where we champion diversity, equity and inclusion. Our vision is to be recognised as Australia's most respected registered club, reflecting and respecting our community. As a Director, I leverage my Masters in Governance and Leadership to navigate the complexities of corporate responsibility, risk and compliance. My role allows me to identify and address cultural issues within our staff, ensuring that our services remain culturally sensitive and inclusive. Professional BackgroundI served 14 years as an Advanced Care Paramedic with the Queensland Ambulance Service, where I gained a profound understanding of clinical procedures, governance, and the intricacies of policies and compliance. My passion for community health led me to teaching paramedical science in rural and remote communities, where I contributed to advancing the skills and capabilities of future healthcare professionals.Community CommitmentMy dedication to our community is firm. Working in Aboriginal Home Health, I’m committed to "closing the gap" and improving the quality of life for over 3000 customers in NSW.
