As the company’s IT Solutions Architect, I was tasked with providing, designing, deploying and maintaining the following:• A VMware and Nutanix environment at the JB1 Teraco data centre in Isando that consisted out of two Dell PowerEdge R710 servers and one Supermicro block (NX-3060-G7) with three nodes, hosting over 50 virtual machines.• Linux and Windows Server virtual machines for a wide variety of services and technologies such as databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and… Show more As the company’s IT Solutions Architect, I was tasked with providing, designing, deploying and maintaining the following:• A VMware and Nutanix environment at the JB1 Teraco data centre in Isando that consisted out of two Dell PowerEdge R710 servers and one Supermicro block (NX-3060-G7) with three nodes, hosting over 50 virtual machines.• Linux and Windows Server virtual machines for a wide variety of services and technologies such as databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and PostreSQL), personal cloud file hosting using ownCloud, web and proxy servers (Apache and NGINX secured with SSL certificates), DNS (PowerDNS and BIND), RADUIS, Activate Directory, web applications written in PHP, Java, Python and Ruby, VPN servers using OpenVPN and Wireguard, and a PKI (both RSA and ECDSA based) for securing IPsec VPNs and devices with HTTPS based management interfaces.• Over 50 MikroTik routers each reachable via various Point-to-Point tunnelling protocols built over IPsec IKEv2 and are secured with TLS certificates.• UniFi networks consisting out of USGs, USWs and UAPs managed with a UniFi Cloud Network Controller hosted on a Linux virtual machine which I built and deployed behind a FQDN and SSL certificate.• Corporate networks consisting out of numerous unique class A subnets, enabling them to be reachable over a large VPN network and dynamically routed using OSPF.
