Coordinate and manage the overall operations of the Storeroom and Receiving Department to ensure that all departments of the hotel have adequate supplies to perform their duties in an efficient manner• Ensure that all hotel goods are properly received, stored and issued• Work closely and effectively with all department heads• Supervise, train and motivate the Stores and Receiving employees and thoroughly understand and guide all their duties and responsibilities• Ensure that the department works closely with the Chef and Food & Beverage manager to purchase the highest quality product• Supervise the day to day functions of the Receiver & Storekeeper• Ensure that there are sufficient expendable operating supplies on hand for each department by coordinating regular inventories with the storeroom employees and/or department heads• Ensure that all storage areas are secure, clean and properly organized, paying close attention to maintaining a safe work environment• Establish and maintain par stocks on all inventoried items, keeping in mind that inventory levels must be kept as low as possible without compromising the efficiency of the hotel• Coordinate, lead and participate as necessary in all month-end inventories of food, beverage, and supplies• Ensure that Receiver is responsible for accepting delivery of goods on behalf of the hotel. This involves ensuring that all shipments are verified against purchase order specifications and standards, in addition to handling shipping tasks and procedures as required• Ensure all non-food and food batches are completed and delivered to Accounts Payable in a timely fashion• Assist Accounts Payable when there are discrepancies with invoices• Resolve any discrepancies in product, quantities and qualities if needed• Ensure freezer and fridge temperatures and cleanliness comply with current government health and safety regulations.
