Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Sant'Angelo Lab)

New Brunswick, New Jersey

Research:I was responsible for driving a project which explored the role of a novel BTB-zinc finger transcription factor "X" in two unreported subsets T cells. These subsets rapidly produced effector cytokines hours following TCR mediated activation. In addition, I was able to show a potential mechanism through ChIP analysis that would explain how our novel BTB-ZF modulates cytokine expression. The results from this project will be published in a high quality immunology journal.Mentoring and Teaching Experience:During my post doctoral fellowship I have been given the privilege to mentor many students (medical, graduate and undergraduate). I have taught students how to set up proper experiments using positive and negative controls and more difficult techniques i.e.FACS (10+ color), RT-PCR and ChIP.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Sant'Angelo Lab)

Greater New York City Area

Research:I created a BTB-zinc finger transcription factor "X" GFP reporter mouse using a BAC and recombineering technology. I identified 2 uniques T cell subsets using the newly created GFP reporter mouse. Using a Scurfy mouse model I was able to examine the role of the newly identified T cells in autoimmunity. Additionally through microarray analysis I determined that the new T cell subsets were indeed genetically unique compared to non-expressing T cells.
