AMANDA, the Advanced Maryland Automatic Network Disk Archiver, is a backup solution that allows the IT administrator to set up a single master backup server to back up multiple hosts over network to tape drives/changers or disks or optical media. Amanda uses native utilities and formats (e.g. dump and/or GNU tar) and can back up a large number of servers and workstations running multiple versions of Linux or Unix. Amanda uses a native windows client to back up Microsoft Windows desktops and servers. Responsible for testing community edition of Amanda with various type of testing including installation, functionality testing, backup-restore testing on windows and linux platform.Responsibilities:Amanda configuration on a 5 machine setup involving Testing of manual backup and restore operation with all the clients Scheduling of automated backups using cron jobsSetting up encryption for backups to ensure data securityTesting of full and incremental backupsWriting test cases and test scenarios Project 3 : VISDEnvironment: HTML Browser, SQL, Quality CenterDescription:The service desk is the SPOC (Single Point of Contact), which registers, classifies, prioritizes and forwards all requests to the respective units within the service organization for solving, if they can't be solved by the Service Desk itself.Responsibilities:Understanding the requirements from client.VISD installation and configuration on Red Hat Linux 5.4Understand application Workflow.Prepared and executed Test Cases for both admin Module & customer module Writing and updating the test cases for functional & system testing.Involved in peer review of the test cases.Regression Test Execution on various Builds.Reporting and tracking defects using Quality Center.Verifying and closing defects.Validation of defect fixes.
