Currently, I am attached to a leading hospitality and tourism school in Malaysia, Faculty of Hospitality, Food & Leisure Management, Taylor's University. My last administrative post was Deputy Dean for Academic, responsible for the overall management of the academic department at UiTM, Shah Alam. While at UiTM (26 years) I am a recipient of three university awards for teaching excellence. I'm the author of several publications (Journal articles and books). I have developed my own area of interest in the area of hospitality industry specializing, but not limited to, in knowledge and competence management, and cognitive skills. I also engaged in NPD and customers service research. I have the opportunity to work and assist several doctoral students towards successful completion of their PhDs and examined several research degree programmes (Master’s and PhD). Throughout my career, I have made consistent efforts to gain experiences that allowed me to integrate diverse theoretical concepts and practical ideas, and apply them to actual work environment and classroom situations that will benefit all. I have been appointed as the chairman in developing Programme Standards for Malaysian hospitality and Tourism management education for MQA, external examiners to several universities and ad-hoc curriculum board member for Malaysian Polytechnics for hospitality and tourism programmes.
