Byju's has multiple products to make learning fun for students, and I've worked in a few of them. 1. Create With Math This is where I'm working currently. This product teaches the applications of math using a gamified approach. We, narrative writers have to create diverse worlds, with cool characters, and interesting scenarios for the users to have fun while learning. My responsibilities here include: i) Writing the overall narrative for the lessons, which are live, multi-level games that students play along with teachers. While doing so, we write characters, build worlds, and create interesting scenarios to make it an immersive and consistent experience. Since this is a live class, we also write small bits of verbatim for the teachers, and for the characters (on-screen). ii) Designing the narratives for the levels (activities), and setting a base for the design. This also includes integrating the math with the worlds, characters, and narrative. iii) Following the lessons along the production pipeline, from docs till applets, and ensuring top quality. iv) User research: talking to the users, teachers, and peers to constantly improve. 2. BTLA: Byju's The Learning AppThis is a mobile application with videos around various curricula. The videos usually have actors, animation, and VFX. My role here is to develop screenplays from the curriculum and ensure quality along the pipeline.Here are my responsibilities in detail: i) Idea-creation: Getting an idea to explain the concept in a fun way for the users. This usually includes a lot of research. ii) Creation of verbatim and screenplay: Once the idea is approved after reviews, we develop the idea into screenplays, with clear verbatim for the teachers, and clear visual descriptions for the other teams involved.iii) Quality checks through pre-production, production, and post-production.
